Project Overview and Map
Brazos Electric plans to upgrade approximately 14 miles of existing 69 kilovolt (kV) single-circuit transmission line to a 138 kV double-circuit line. The project proposes to connect the existing Alcorn Substation on Salmon Road with the existing Capps Corner Substation on FM 1956 and FM 677 with a new double circuit 138 kV transmission line on single-pole steel or concrete structures. Minor improvements may be required at the Alcorn and Capps Corner Substations. The proposed right-of-way width for the new transmission line is 70 feet.
The Alcorn to Capps Corner project is part of the Cooke County Resiliency Project that aims to address thermal overloads and voltage violations in Cooke County. This project will enhance system capacity and improve service reliability for Brazos Electric Cooperative and its member-customers.
